CODE 49 is an ultra high-density two dimensional code (multiple-row) symbology of variable length.
Like Code 16K, it should be printed with at least two rows and a maximum of eight rows. It has one
check character per row. Code 49 is capable of encoding the full ASCII 128 character set. In order to
facilitate the reading of this code by a moving beam fixed mount scanner, each row is numbered and the
final row includes the number of rows in an individual code to insure parity. A data compression feature
has been included for numeric strings of data which will allow as many as nine characters to be produced
in an area .5" by .25".
Applications For Code 49:
- Electronics and health industries
- Printed circuit boards
- Integrated circuits
- Bracelets
- Unit dose packages
- Specimen slides
