Free Color Use in Library Labels |

- Simplify book-drop sorting by using identifying colors for each branch or location
- Color code patron labels to differentiate patrons from item labels
- Highlight the actual sequential number to speed up phone renewals
- Color logos, city seals or color stripes will assist self-scanning libraries...patrons won't be confused by the presence of the regular black and white UPC code
- Assist in security efforts. A color label is not likely to be copied. Color code special collections. Color will be a "hot button".
- Coordinate library logo on patron cards, stationery, forms, bookmarks and bar code labels
- Define "sets" of labels to provide self-audit and ensure zero mistakes when placing on books
